SDI target drivers support mass storage peripheral devices such as disks and tapes. Each target driver runs under the aegis of a Host Bus Adapter (HBA) device and driver.

UnixWare 7 includes general purpose target drivers that support most peripheral devices. If a device needs some special support, it may be possible to implement this using the SDI pass through interface and the standard target drivers rather than having to write a special target driver.
