For a UK or Irish keyboard the keystroke sequence is <Alt><Gr>4.
For other European keyboards, the keystroke sequence is <Alt><Gr>e.
For a US keyboard the keystroke sequence is <Alt><Gr>5. You can also run mapchan(1M) and enter the Euro symbol using the compose sequence <Ctrl> T e =.
Once logged in in single-user mode, the root user needs to do the following:
For 8-bit locales, the value is TERM=AT386-ie. For EUC or UTF-8 locales, the value is TERM=AT386-mb.
This step is necessary before running any kind of command which is screen-oriented; for example, vi or scoadmin.
Once logged in on a terminal other than vt00, the user needs to run /etc/mapchan:
Determine and export the current keyboard settings, by entering:
