Tuning CPU resources

Your system hardware contains one or more central processing units (CPUs) plus a host of ancillary processors that relieve the CPU from having to perform certain tasks: The operating system handles these resources for you -- reprogramming the various peripheral processor chips to perform tasks on behalf of the CPU.
